Well Informed: Racism
Matthew Cooke does a good job explaining the slavery history of the United States. He starts off by saying that blacks weren't the only ones who went through slavery. Whites did also, not because of their skin but simply because a win or a loss of war. A law was passed through that gave whites more privileges to divide their separation from blacks. Blacks were at the bottom and poor whites were placed above them being treated more favorably and were promised to have a better life if they worked hard enough. The South was considered the masters when all rights and freedom was taken from the African Americas. The modern of institute slave history existed when this rule took place. It debouched black women, men and kids lives for about 245 years.
Although people may think racism doesn't existed anymore, it does. Being African American I know that we don't get the same oppurtunities as a white person. So yes, #BlackLivesMatter that doesn't mean we are overlooking people of none color lives and saying that they don't matter but this hash tag is symbolizing the pride that we do have as culture and for others to not over-look the equality that is still going on in America today.
