Well Informed: Education

Sugata Mitra who presented a TED talk called  "Build a school in a cloud" talks about how our education can use technology. He demonstrated how children can learn from each other instead of hands on teaching. Children will be able to log into a "cloud" that has other students and tutors that can guide them in a right direction for educational stuff they don't understand. This concept will be different on how our education is set up now because it uses the concept of self learning. The dangerous part about this concept is that it can be utilized for good purposes but if children abuse it then they will not be learning much from this concept. I like this view by Sugata because it focuses more on a individual learning then a group learning. Our educational system now focuses on standardized learning and judges a student by a test score. Everyones learns differently but we still have this system that uses test scored to move a student to the next grade. In the TED talk by Ken Robinson "Bring on the Learning Revolution" accentuate on how we need to focus more on individualized learning the standardized learning. I agree with Ken what I like most about his understanding is that he talks about if we can take these different learning approaches that we know and shift them all into one that can help everyone then that will be better for our education system. someone that has this authority can make these changes into effect. We have the technology to make these changes immediately but I believe that we are so use to this process that we have now people will over look these views and won't take to time to put them in effect.
